Cooperation between Biardo survival and FIR-TEX

Biardo starts an industrial cooperation with FIR-TEX. Some months ago Frans Meeuwissen, the director of Biardo, read in a racing publication that Red Bull Racing F1 Team used FIR-TEX. The article caught his attention especially in view of the results and the performance improvements of people wearing FIR-TEX.   Biardo provides an immersion suit to the offshore industry, including for people travelling by helicopter to and from the drilling and production sites in the North Sea. These lifejackets are intended, in case off an unexpected helicopter crash, to give the occupants a chance to survive in the cold North Sea water. The suits are made of a special combination of Gore Tex. Underneath is a so-called thermal lining worn to keep the passengers warm. In their latest series immersion suits (thermoliner) some parts also include a FIR-TEX layer. The idea of Biardo to enter in cooperation with FIR-TEX was immediately obvious: FIR-TEX makes it possible to the passenger to get more energy and heat, especially to hold and use it, in the event of an accident involving the helicopter. This extra energy of course increases the survival chances of the victim. Red Bull Racing is to use a unique new performance boosting vest during the Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul this Sunday. The pit team – who helped put Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel at the top of the drivers’ table following the Grand Prix De Monaco – will all be wearing a FIR-VEST throughout the race to give them improved muscle strength, balance and circulation. Last night the FIR-VEST was unveiled and demonstrated to the world’s media at a press conference in Istanbul held by its inventors, Cyprus-based company FIR-TEX Ltd.
